The Kingdom of Fife borders the Firth of Tay in the North, the North Sea in the East and the Firth of Forth in the South. It is a popular holiday destination having a long coastline of sandy beaches, a flat landscape ideal for walking and cycling, superb golf courses and lots of visitors’ attractions. The most popular tourist destination is St Andrews, with its internationally famous Royal and Ancient Golf Clubs and university (founded in 1410)

The house is ideally situated for families, couples or groups of friends who wish to explore the East Neuk of Fife’s picturesque villages of Anstruther, Pittenweem, St. Monans, Elie, Charleton, Lundin Links and Carnoustie. It is ideal for golfers of all abilities with many golf courses in and around St. Andrews which is the home of golf. There are two courses at Crail, Anstruther, Elie, Charleton, Lundin Links and Carnoustie where the 2007 Open took place and in 2010 the Open will be held in St. Andrews.

For the non-golfer Fife boasts a wealth of visitor attractions including Scotland’s Secret Bunker built during the cold war is four miles west of Crail and is where central government and military commanders would have run the country had the uk been attacked and nuclear war broken out.

The Fife Coastal Path passes through Anstruther to Crail. Anstruther is home to the Scottish Fisheries Museum and also renowned for the award wining Anstruther Fish Restaurant. Crail has an interesting Museum and Heritage Centre and a well-established working pottery.

Historic places of interest abound with the likes of Falkland Palace, St. Andrews Cathedral, Glamis Castle and Scone Palace all within easy reach. The area is filled with wonderful art galleries, restaurants, pubs and many independent boutique shops.
